DMRC seals ₹13,365-cr Patna metro rail deal

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed an agreement with the Bihar government for execution of the ₹13,365 crore Patna metro rail project, which is expected to be commissioned by September 2024. DMRC has been appointed as consultant and tenders will be floated soon to hire a firm for the construction work. DMRC, which is being paid ₹482.9 crore as consultation fee, has signed an agreement for five years. Work will start first on the 31.39km-long north-south corridor covering Patna Junction, Dak Bungalow roundabout, Gandhi Maidan, Ashok Rajpath, and Rajendra Nagar Terminal and will connect with the proposed new interstate bus terminal. The east-west corridor will be of 16.94km length; and the Danapur to Meethapur via Patna Junction will be 14.45km-long.
