DMRC plans triple interchange at Azadpur metro station

DMRC
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has planned to build a triple interchange facility for metro lines at the Azadpur metro station, which is going to be the second such station in Delhi after Kashmere Gate. The Azadpur station will allow the passengers to be connected to three corridors of the mass rapid transit system in the city including Yellow line, Pink line, and the upcoming Phase IV RK Ashram-Janakpuri West corridor. The Azadpur metro station currently has an elevated station for the yellow line corridor of the metro, while the platforms for the pink line corridor are underground. The upcoming Phase IV metro link connecting RK Ashram and Janakpuri West will have paid-to-paid area connectivity with both the yellow and the pink line stations at Azadpur and this will boost connectivity as it will link Azadpur with its peripheral areas directly. Passengers on this new corridor will be able to get an easy connection with places like Pulbangash, Sadar Bazar, Derawal Nagar, and Ghanta Ghar, as well as areas like Mangolpuri, Peeragarhi, Madhuban Chowk, and Pitampura in the North-west areas of Delhi.
