Fast tracking the construction work on the first phase of Jogeshwari-Kanjurmarg metro project, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has invited bids for the phase, which includes construction of viaducts of three stations like IIT Powai, Kanjur-Marg and Vikhroli. The DMRC is executing the project on behalf of MMRDA. The project included part design and construction of viaducts and three elevated stations including a ramp for depot entry of Swami Samarth Nagar - JVLR - SEEPZ - Kanjur Marg - Vikhroli (EEH) for the contract slated to be completed within 30 months after awarding the contract. The corridor received cabinet nod late last year for the project to be executed in two phases. However, the work of Metro 6 had affected a bridge of BMC, the work of which is in a limbo for more than a year. The eastern arm of the ROB at Jogeshwari which connects Western Express Highway (WEH) to Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) has already been thrown open to motorists but later on it was decided to extend the ROB up to link road in the west to decongest JVLR, said an official spokesperson.
