The Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), a GMR-led consortium, has received the green nod from the environment ministry for construction of two commercial buildings in Aerocity at an investment of about ₹1,310 crore with certain riders. As per the proposal, both projects will be developed in the Gateway district of Aerocity, IGI Airport. One commercial building will come up in a plot area of 20,778 sqm at an estimated cost of ₹480 crore and the other building will be developed on 32,189 sqm area at a cost of ₹830 crore. DIAL has initiated phase-2 of the Airport Land Development at Aerocity, through two new precincts -- Gateway and Downtown districts -- planned next to the Hospitality District (Phase 1), which is currently operational. The projects will meet the growing commercial needs with state-of-the art apartments, nursing homes and educational institutes.
