Chhattisgarh launches road bypasses
Ensuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic across the state, the Chhattisgarh government has recently launched the construction of 17 road bypasses across cities in 11 districts under NHDP-IV and allied schemes, State PWD Minister Rajesh Munat, said. In addition, 20 bypass roads have also been approved at a cost of Rs 589 crore and the building work will be started very shortly. He added that 46 bypass roads are currently being laid around urban pockets of Chhattisgarh at a cost of Rs.1,223 crore. Another 26 bypass roads have been approved which are away from urban pockets of Munat. One of the projects among these roads is the 8-km long 'Kondagaon bypass in Bastar district for which Rs.10 crore has been sanctioned. Likewise, Rs.17 crore have been sanctioned for 24-km long Jagdalpur bypass No.2, Rs.11 crore for 11-km long Balod bypass, Rs.17 crore for 8 km-long Tilda-Neora bypass road, Rs.10 crore for 10-km long Nandini city road and Rs.12 crore are among the many others where the construction work has been launched recently.
