Chhattisgarh gets 950-km roads under Bharatmala

The transport ministry has targeted to build 950 km long road network under Bharatmala project in Chhattisgarh and has already declared 290.08 km of roads in in the state as new national highways. The total density of National Highways (NHs) in Chhattisgarh is at 23.4 km per 1000 square km out of the total length of 3,168 kms in the state. Elsewhere in the country, the ministry has already declared about 30,268 km of new National Highways including 53 km of NHs (717A & 316A) in West Bengal and on the other hand NHAI had also announced plans of broadening NH – 26 to augment connectivity between Raipur and Vishakhapatnam.
