The Chennai civic body in a recent move has decided to build roads within its jurisdiction at an estimated cost of over Rs 200cr. The body adopted a resolution to convert three acres of underutilized land near Anna Memorial at Marina Beach into a park and an MoU will be connected with Eicher Motors to undertake sanitation work in 1000 residential portions in Tiruvottriyur and also to install a bio-gas plant. The council adopted a resolution with regard to Manidhaneya Arakkattalai (trust), run by Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, joining hands with Chennai Corporation to upgrade the educational institutions including injecting a facelift to their infrastructure, said an official.
