Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon is set to bag the Chandigarh flyover project as the company was the lowest bidder with ₹137.4 crore as against the reserve price of ₹158 crore. The other bidders were Ceigall India Limited, Ashoka Buildcon and SP Singla Constructions. The city's first flyover will come up at sectors 29/31/Industrial Area Phase-1 and Phase 2 rotary on the national highway 5. Once the ministry of road transport and highways gives the final approval, work will be allotted to the company and construction will be monitored by the UT engineering department. Initially, the administration planned to construct 7-km-long flyover at a cost of around Rs 900 crore but the ministry reduced its length to 1.2 km and also cleared funds worth Rs 158 crore to execute the project.
