Centre sanctions ₹300-cr for flyover in Kerala

Flyover Project
A long-pending demand to construct a flyover at the busy Kittur Chennamma Circle has been fulfilled with the Union government sanctioning ₹300 crore for the project, Parliamentary affairs, coal and mines minister Prahlad Joshi has saidthat the transport ministry has responded positively to the proposal as it first approved the project and tender will be floated shortly. The elevated corridor flyover would reduce traffic congestion in the heart of the city. According to the national highways assistant executive engineer PH Mathad, the project was included in the annual plan of the ministry and the amount has been kept aside for its construction. Among others, at Chennamma Circle, an elevated rotary junction will be constructed where one arm would be built towards the railway station and the other towards Hosur Circle. Both the arms will have four lanes for the movement of vehicles and one more arm would be built from Hosur to Mofussil depot of the NWKRTC on Gokul Road, he said.
