Centre clears Bahraich-Malani rail line in UP

In order to make the entire stretch as tourists’ destination, the Railway Board has recently cleared the UP government’s plan to turn the Bahraich-Malani rail road similar to Shimla and Darjeeling toy trains routes. In this connection, a proposal was recently put forth by the state government so as to increase the movement of tourists to Dudhwa National Park as it thinks developing train route as an eco-tourism destination, not just only push the headcount of tourists in Dudhwa National Park but also help in keeping the poachers at bay. Indeed, it is true that the Bahurich-Malani rail road passes through beautiful jungles of the state, and the variety of animals roaming in the forest add to the beauty of the region. In order to restore the beauty by developing this route like the Darjeeling and Shimla train routes, the forest department has requested the railway board to refrain from developing it into a broad gauge route and strict instructions have been given to the concerned authorities to develop the rail road in the narrow-gauge and eco-friendly manner, said official sources.
