BMRCL connecting airport line with R K Puram

Namma Metro
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has called for fresh geo-technical feasibility bids for connecting airport line with KR Puram (blue) line. Officials said that they are exploring an option to connect the line via KR Puram, Nagawara, Hebbal, Yelahanka and Kempegowda International Airport. The stretch from KR Puram to the Airport will be a part of Phase 2B blue line and there is a need to carry out a geo survey/feasibility survey to study the ground level and other factors and assess its suitability for metro construction. Tenders have been called for. BMRCL had earlier planned to connect the Gottigere-Nagawara line to the airport line but as the stretch requires an extensive underground tunneling work, it is expected to be delayed. Hence, BMRCL is considering taking up the R K Puram-Hebbal line so that it can quickly take up work on the airport line.
