BHEL Secures ₹8,998 Cr EPC Contract for Amarkantak Thermal Power Project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the EPC package of Amarkantak Thermal Power Station (Unit-6, 1x660 MW) in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh. The project is valued at ₹8,998.39 crore.

BHEL’s scope includes engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of key systems such as the steam generator and auxiliaries, flue gas desulphurisation (FGD), auxiliary boiler, biomass co-firing capability, and ash handling system. The package also covers complete civil, structural, and architectural works.
