BDA announces 5,000 low-cost units

In order to achieve the laid down targets of ensuring 'housing for all' across the state, the Bhopal Development Authority (BDA), in a recent development has decided to build 5,000 low-cost units in the state, Chief Executive Officer Neeraj Vashishtha said, insisting that the nodal agency will construct houses in next fiscal and the entire stock will be sold at subsidized rates under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the CM Awas Yojana. By 2018, the BDA plans to sell out all its property ensuring possession to 12,500 plot owners in prestigious Aero city near airport. The remaining 1,800 plots of the project will be developed in next phase and more than 500 low-cost houses constructed by the agency under affordable housing project remained unsold after that the state government decided to provide houses to all those belonging to the poorest strata of the society.
