BCAS and Rashtriya Raksha University Sign MoU to Set Up Aviation Security Testing Centre

BCAS-and-Rashtriya-University
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and Rashtriya Raksha University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a dedicated indigenous testing centre for aviation security equipment in India.

The project involves setting up a specialised facility for conducting trials, performance evaluation and certification of Full Body Scanners and other security screening systems used at airports. The centre will be developed at Rashtriya Raksha University in collaboration with BCAS and will function as an independent platform for testing and regulatory assessment.

The facility will include state-of-the-art testing laboratories aligned with global standards to evaluate safety, performance and interoperability of aviation security equipment supplied by manufacturers. It will also support certification processes and help develop an institutional framework for accreditation.

The initiative aims to strengthen India’s aviation security infrastructure by enabling indigenous testing capabilities, reducing dependence on foreign certification systems, and supporting the development of domestic standards for security equipment.
