Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has floated tenders for the construction of a 3.5km-long flyover between Nayandahalli junction and Bangalore University's Jnanabharathi campus in tune with the ongoing Bengaluru-Mysuru highway widening project. Work on the ₹80 crore flyover, which will have a down ramp towards RR Nagar at Gopalan Arcade Mall, is expected to begin shortly. Traffic coming from RR Nagar side will take the road below the upcoming flyover, thus making the junction signal-free. Currently, commuters have to wait for over 20 minutes to cross the traffic junction near Gopalan Arcade mall. Pillars on the Vrishabhavathi canal of the flyover close to RR Nagar gate have to be erected on Vrishabhavathi canal as there is a little space available for their construction.
