Bairabi–Sairang Railway Line Opens, Connects Mizoram to Indian Railways

The Bairabi–Sairang railway line in Mizoram has been officially commissioned, marking the state’s full integration into India’s national railway network. The 51.38-km broad gauge line received authorization after inspection by the Commission of Railway Safety (CRS). The final 33.86-km stretch from Hortoki to Sairang was inspected by Sumeet Singhal, Commissioner of Railway Safety (Northeast Frontier Circle). This section, passing through hilly terrain, features 32 tunnels and 35 major bridges, showcasing significant engineering achievements.
