Ayodhya airport gets ₹500-cr booster

Airport Project
The UP government has cleared ₹500 crore for Ayodhya airport project. Also in Uttar Pradesh Budget-2019, the government had allocated ₹200 crore for the same project. The allocation for Ayodhya airport has gone up significantly as it will be named after Lord Ram as announced by CM Adityanath. In November 2019, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri informed that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had received a proposal from the UP government. The airport in Ayodhya will be built under the Modi government's regional connectivity scheme (RCS) - Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN). The Yogi Adityanath government has also allocated ₹150 crore for air services under the UP Civil Aviation Promotion Policy-2017 and RCS scheme.
