Assam Govt Approves ₹4.19 Bn for Infrastructure Projects

The Assam government has approved road and water infrastructure projects totaling ₹4.19 billion to boost development in the state.
A sum of ₹2.10 billion has been allocated for 104 road projects aimed at improving rural connectivity across 12 districts. Additionally, ₹2.07 billion has been sanctioned for drinking water supply projects in Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, and North Lakhimpur under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF).
The Cabinet also approved the launch of an online portal to streamline mutual transfers for Grade III and IV employees. Furthermore, amendments to the Assam Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2024, were sanctioned to simplify the registration process for births and deaths.
