Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, reviewed the on-ground passenger arrangements at the New Delhi Railway Station, ensuring smooth travel during the ongoing festive season. He highlighted that 12 lakh railway employees are working tirelessly across the country to ensure that passengers reach their destinations safely and on time.

Over the last 20 days, 4,211 special trains have been operated to cater to more than 1 crore passengers, while another 7,800 trains are planned to manage the festival rush. On average, 4.25 lakh passengers are facilitated daily from the Delhi area alone.

The Railways’ dedicated war rooms at Rail Bhawan, as well as in all zones and divisions, are continuously monitoring passenger movement in real time to ensure efficient operations. Additional facilities, including holding areas, ticket counters, potable water points, and clean washrooms, have been set up to enhance passenger comfort.

Passengers have appreciated the improved arrangements, noting comfortable travel experiences even in unreserved coaches, reflecting Indian Railways’ human touch and commitment to public service during peak travel periods.
