Arunachal pushes ₹900-cr road & highway project

Highway Projects
Arunachal Pradesh has urged the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to expedite the work on the strategic road which is being delayed for various reasons. In this connection, the state administration has held a review meeting recently with NHIDCL General Manager Prabhat Kumar insisting that the construction work on the Joram-Koloriang Road must be fast tracked. Since the monsoon is gradually receding, the primary works like shifting of essential services, water supply, power poles are being carried out on fast tracked basis to facilitate smooth construction of the road. The 138 km road is estimated to be constructed at a cost of ₹900 crore. It is worth mentioning that the foundation stone of the stretch of the road was laid in December last year by Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. The state stressed on the necessity of regular reviews and monitoring of issues confronted by the road projects’ executing agency and also expediting other projects across the state.
