APL Apollo starts operations at Raipur plant in Chhattisgarh

APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APL Apollo)
As the industrial sector is gradually gathering momentum due to partial relaxation in the lockdown, APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APL Apollo), India's leading branded steel pipes manufacturer, is resuming partial operations from its Raipur (Chhattisgarh) plant. APL Apollo announced that production at this facility will be recommenced in a gradual manner after securing all the required permissions from the government authorities. Prior to this, the company would be taking all the necessary precautions relating to hygiene, sanitisation, social distancing, besides care and protection of its employees in view of the COVID-19 spread. The company stated that it would keep making efforts towards normalised level of operations despite the constraints arising out of material movement, and maintaining a minimum number of working employees as per the guidelines.

Sanjay Gupta, CMD, APL Apollo said, “Even though we will be resuming operations, our top priority will be to ensure health and safety of our employees. As a socially responsible firm, we understand that we also have the responsibility to support our communities, especially those who are vulnerable. We equally appreciate the healthcare providers working on the frontline of this pandemic; we owe them a huge applaud for all their hard work and the sacrifices that they are making for us.”

Employees of APL Apollo have voluntarily contributed one day's salary to aid the government's efforts to provide relief to the needy. APL Apollo is looking to strengthen its pan-India presence on the back of the growing popularity of its state-of-the-art product range. As per the plans, APL Apollo is in the process of launching several new products in the coming months. APL Apollo is the first ever company to move from commoditised products to branded products, particularly in steel pipes segment, and is constantly moving up the ladder with its strong pan-India network of fabricators and dealers.
