The state government in Andhra Pradesh has launched realty and road building works worth ₹48,000 crore in the upcoming state capital Amrawati, CM Chandra Babu Naidu said, adding that road works worth 217 km are currently in various stages of construction. The government is also in the process of completing the construction of 61 towers housing 4,480 staff quarters to be allotted to officers very shortly. Out of the total investment, the Centre has granted ₹1,500 crore and would give another ₹1,000 crore for the for the construction of state capital. The local municipal body is also laying 320 km long trunk roads along with footpath for walkers. The road works were largely delayed due to completing the works on other utilities including the construction of storm water drains, laying underground cables, gas pipelines and greenery works in the area. Among others, the state is also building the City Civil Court in 2-lakh square metres area and the same would be completed by the end of December this year, he claimed.
