AP proposes for better green highways

In an encouraging development in the downstream south, the National Highways Authority of India has received two proposals from Andhra Pradesh Government for development of green highways. In this connection, the first proposal is the plantation and beautification along National Highways through AP Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation and the second is to ensure plantation and maintenance along NH – 44 (Hyderabad – Bangalore section) through Forest Department, Andhra Pradesh. The proposals for plantation and maintenance of 40 km length along NH-7 (Anantpur bypass to Chenekothapalli), 27 km length along NH-16 (Divancheruvu to Gundugolanu) and 60 km along NH-44 (Hyderabad – Bangalore section) have already been approved by NHAI.
