AP launches bridge, infra projects worth ₹2,132-cr

Bridge Project
The Andhra Pradesh CM laid the foundation for construction of Iconic Bridge with a 170-meter long pylon and spanning 3.2 km over river Krishna. Entailing an estimated investment of ₹1387 crore, it will directly connect Amaravati with Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway, and will have six lanes and 2.5 meters wide pavements. The distance from Amaravati to these cities will be reduced by 40 km and the bridge will ease traffic problems in Vijayawada. A water treatment plant is also being constructed on the Krishna river at an investment of ₹745.65 crore. Once completed, it will provide round the clock drinking water in Amaravati. The project will include two intake wells, a 190 MLD capacity water treatment plant, and a partially underground purified water reservoir.
