AP launches 1,000km long road corridor

To promote tourism in the state, the state government in Andhra Pradesh has recently issued notification for Techno-Economic Feasibility (TEF) study for building Beach Road Corridor Project between Ichchapuram in Srikakulam and Tada in Nellore commanding a length of 1,000km. The project in question has been conceived to exploit the tourism potential of the coastline along sea shore crisscrossing nine coastal districts of the state. The works have been divided into four packages– Ichchapuram-Visakhapatnam (250 km), Visakhapatnam –Narsapur (260 km), Narsapur-Ongole (260), and Ongole-Tada (240 km) and the agencies including Feedback Infra Private Limited, Aarvee Associates, AECOM Asia Company Ltd. in consortium with AECOM India Private Limited, have already been finalized for preparing the feasibility reports. Works between Ongole and Tada are currently in full swing, a senior official from Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP), said, adding that horticulture gardens, pastures, parks, amusement parks, hotels, and beach resorts will flank the beach road. In addition, the corridor will also provide avenues for a wide variety of tourist attractions, logistic hubs, industrial development, and manufacturing and services, he added.
