AP floating tenders for ₹1,550-cr highway project

The Andhra Pradesh government is set to float tenders for the first phase of the Rajahmundry-Vizianagaram highway which will cover a stretch of 410km and is being built through Visakhapatnam and East Godavari's Agency areas at an investment of ₹1,550 crore. In the first phase, 80-km of three separate stretches will be developed. The tenders will cover Paderu to Araku, Araku to Balliguda and Boduru to Vizianagaram stretches and is expected to cost about ₹550 crore. The two stretches will cost nearly ₹200 crore each and the last one is estimated to cost ₹150 crore, said KVL Narsimha Rao, deputy executive engineer of NH-Vizianagaram. He added that once the tenders are floated, the first phase of work would begin. The highway will provide easy access from East Godavari to the borders of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
