AP fixes Rs. 376cr for Kakinada smart city

The state government in Andhra Pradesh in a most recent move has cleared a whopping sum worth Rs 376-cr for taking up the multiple development works in Kakinada city, which found place on the first list of 20 Smart Cities under the Smart City Mission (SCM). In this connection, the State government had earlier constituted a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), the Kakinada Smart City Corporation Limited, to take up the targeted infra upgrade and developmental works in Kakinada and that the cities selected under the SCM project will get an allocation of Rs. 100-cr for each of the five years of the mission period, said an official spokesperson.
