AP approves Rs. 2,840-cr projects across state

The state government in Andhra Pradesh, through its Investment Promotion Board, cleared seven projects of Rs. 2,840.99 crore, said official sources. The project includes clearing the proposals of Walsin Electronic India, which plans to set up an electronics manufacturing unit in Tirupati at an investment of Rs. 734.47 crore. The other project is of the GM Modular, which plans to set up an electronics manufacturing unit in the same area at an investment of Rs. 133.65 crore. The Wingtech Mobile Communications (India) has also got clearance for setting up an electronics manufacturing unit in Tirupati at a cost of Rs. 1031.07 crore. Tecchren Batteries, which plans to set up an electronics manufacturing unit in Sri City, Chittoor, at a cost of Rs. 445.86 crore, has also got clearance. Others include Veer O Metals and Indus Coffee, which are establishing a freezer dried coffee unit for exports at SEZ, Naidupet, at a cost of Rs. 41.94 crore and Rs. 304 crore, respectively.
