Amit Shah Inaugurates ₹66 Cr Development Projects in Sanand, Gujarat

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 52 development projects worth around ₹66 crore in Sanand Assembly constituency, Gujarat, via video conferencing from New Delhi.
Shri Shah said Sanand has been developed with a clear plan and assured that by 2029, every village in the constituency will have basic amenities. A comprehensive roadmap has been prepared to strengthen infrastructure in Bavla and Sanand municipalities, including roads, afforestation, healthcare, sanitation, and drinking water facilities.
He highlighted that 111 villages in Sanand, which long lacked irrigation and drinking water facilities, are now benefiting from projects worth ₹750 crore, with additional works of ₹1,000 crore planned. CSR initiatives worth ₹150 crore are also underway to address village-level needs.
Amit Shah noted that once the Dholera Special Investment Region and industrial projects near Sanand are operational, Sanand will emerge as Gujarat’s most industrially developed tehsil. He also emphasized the success of the Green Gandhinagar Project, which has set a record for tree plantation in Gujarat.
Highlighting Sanand’s role in India’s tech progress, Shri Shah mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unveiling of the country’s first 32-bit processor chip, Vikram-32, at SEMICON India 2025. He added that Micron Technology’s upcoming chip manufacturing unit in Sanand will give a major boost to the region’s development.
