Making financing low cost housing more easier and hassle free, Axis Bank has recently launched a home loan product for the affordable housing segment wherein a customer with regular repayment record can get 12 equated monthly installments (EMIs) waived. Through this product, the bank seems to be trying to ensure that such loans continue for a longer period on its books. The 12 EMI waiver benefit will be available to borrowers applying for loans up to Rs.30 lakh under the ‘Shubh Aarambh Home Loans’. A customer with regular repayment gets four EMIs each waived after the fourth, eighth and 12th year from the date of first disbursement. The effect of EMI waiver will be given in the form of reduction in tenure, the bank said in an official stattement.
