AEM Releases Guidance Documents on Autonomy, Cybersecurity, and Data Usage

To foster alignment among manufacturers, suppliers, and technology providers on critical industry issues, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has released a set of new guidance documents. These resources aim to establish a common language around three key areas: machine autonomy, cybersecurity, and data usage.
Developed collaboratively with AEM member companies, the trio of guidance documents is intended to promote consistent terminology and understanding across the non-road equipment industry. The documents were unveiled during AEM’s Celebration of Construction event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Now available for viewing and download on AEM.org, these consensus-based resources will support more effective communication among industry stakeholders and help shape ongoing discussions around technological advancement in equipment manufacturing.
“When it comes to aligning our members and our industry on ever-evolving issues and topics of importance, words matter,” said AEM Senior Vice President Curt Blades. “It’s why we leveraged the collective knowledge expertise of our membership to develop these guidance documents. Autonomy, cybersecurity, and data impact our industry and our world in so many ways, and AEM is committed to helping ensure conversations and communications surrounding these topics are conveyed clearly, consistently, and accurately.”
