ADB injects ₹1,650-cr infra push to Tripura

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved ₹1,650 crore to develop infrastructure across seven district headquarter towns of Tripura. of which 80 percent will be grant-in-aid and the state will have to repay 20 percent loan over a period of time. The ADB-assisted infrastructure development in the state is the first of its kind in Tripura and will modernize all the district headquarters and boost tourism and trade prospects. The project is part of the CM’s ambitious project to transform Tripura into a model state. The project submitted by the Urban Development Department makes provisions for piped water supply, underground drainage and sewage with scientific seepage management, and roads, which will be undertaken in Khowai, Ambassa, Dharmnagar, Kailashahar, Udaipur, Bishramganj and Belonia on a fast track basis.
