Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India's largest private port operator, is set to win the contract to run a 5.7 million tonne capacity multipurpose terminal at Deendayal Port. The terminal, which will handle clean cargo including containers, will be operated by APSEZ for 30 years. The company secured the contract by placing the highest royalty bid of Rs 200 per ton.
This win will bolster APSEZ's presence at Deendayal Port (formerly Kandla Port), India's second-largest state-owned port by volume, where it already operates a dry bulk cargo terminal at Tuna Tekra, a satellite facility.
