A report by IIT-Delhi reveals that around 44% of roads in Delhi lack footpaths, and only a little over a quarter of the existing footpaths meet the width and height standards set by the Indian Road Congress (IRC). These findings, presented in the India Status Report on Road Safety, were released ahead of the World Safety Summit in Delhi on Monday, amid growing discussions on enhancing pedestrian safety and making the capital more pedestrian-friendly.
