Hafeez Khan, Manitou South Asia
There is demand for machines that have integrated new technologies and are giving additional value to customers through automation, sensor-based controls, telematics and mapping, and predictive maintenance.
Hafeez Khan, Managing Director

At Excon, we will display our imported MHT Heavy Telehandlers and MRT Rotating Telehandlers along with attachments like the Multifunction Grab, Material Basket, Big Bag Handler, Concrete Skip, Bale Clamp, Brick Block Grabber etc. from our stock of 400+ attachments.
The all-new MBL series of Backhoe Loaders have been given a face lift with more safety and operator comfort features, The MBL series comes with a BS IV engine and in three variants: MBL745 NA (74.5 hp Naturally Aspirated-NA), MBL745 HT (74.5 hp High Torque-HT) and MBL745HT+ (74.5 hp, High Torque (HT+) with a Variable Displacement Pump). During Excon, we will launch yet another variant - the MBL 745 Ranger which comes with a Banana Boom and is available in 3 sub-variants NA, HT and HT+.

The operator cabin in the MBL series is very spacious with a best-in-class operator seat with head- and arm rest. Features like an audio system, adjustable levers, and tilt steering, make operations at sites easy and lower operator fatigue.

Access to the cabin is easier with conveniently placed grab rails. Ergonomically placed switches, levers and control clusters have large sized, easy to read indicators and warnings. A battery cut-off switch is provided as standard to protect against electrical fires and theft when the machine is not in use. An emergency cut-off switch can be used by the operator to stop the engine immediately during any hazardous situation. To optimize the equipment’s running cost, we have an Easy Manager as a standard feature.

Our Indigenous products MXT Telehandlers, MBL Backhoe Loaders, and Skid Steer Loaders are designed to provide optimum safety, productivity, and reliability.
The Indian range of our Telehandlers has two models: the MXT840 and the MXT1740, which have been designed and manufactured to meet customer requirements in challenging jobsites, give higher productivity, and better RoI per ton of material handled.

Safety features and hydraulic cut-offs allow effective and safe management of the loads and operation. Whatever the case may be, the in-built systems and safety allowances ensure that the machine with load is always within its safety parameters. The handling of the loads within restricted, cramped, and narrow areas has been made very simple with different steering modes like the crab mode, and the 4- and 2-wheel steer.

A turning circle of just 3.9 m combined with 4-wheel steering, 4 equal wheels, brakes on all 4 wheels (on both axles), additional hydraulic cooler, hydraulic cut-off as per load chart with video and audio alarm, standard battery cutoff, cabin with Level II ROPS/FOPS, seat sensors, digital dashboard, gradient up to 47%, ground clearance of 38 cm, metal mudguard, and all other features make our telehandlers the safest in the industry.

Our all-new Skid Steer Loader 1340R- a 49hp machine with Yanmar engine has an operating capacity of 612 kg, and has attachments like the Sweeper collector, Grapple bucket, Pallet fork, Auger, and Rock breaker.

The increasing versatility in the backhoe loader market is propelling manufacturers to add more features and value engineering into their products to gain a competitive edge.
With the construction market maturing with each passing year, customers are demanding value add-ons in their machines to increase productivity, safety, and ease of operations.

Manitou is making regular improvements in its backhoes to provide value to customers by incorporating advanced and robust features for multi-application capabilities. Our backhoe loaders have a robust structure, are reliable, and fuel-efficient. They deliver higher uptime and require low maintenance, even after prolonged usage. Customers get quick returns on their investments on top of an optimum Total Cost of Ownership.

There is a huge potential in the market to expand the rental business.
The increasing opportunities in the rental sector are luring customers to shift from ownership to leasing out machines saving them the reduced Capex budget.

India is witnessing infra construction across all sectors, resulting in a surge in demand for equipment that can be used in all the areas. The shooting price of steel along with the BS-IV norms have provided a conducive platform for the rental industry to catapult to a new level in the next five years.

Lean and Industry 4.0 are transforming the manufacturing process as every manufacturer wants to maximize productivity while minimizing wastage.
The modern world is getting increasingly connected digitally; IoT has enabled a strong platform for industries to foster productivity, efficiencies, and innovativeness. With connected machines, the Manitou Group has evolved from a manufacturer to a solutions provider. Incorporating automation in our machines have made them even more efficient, versatile, and safer.

Our telematics system ‘Easy Manager’ is now a standard fitment on all Manitou machines sold worldwide, including India, to deliver structured data to help our dealers provide and manage services to their end-customers with measurable results. And the operator has a digital twin on his smartphone with MyManitouApp with which customers can track their machine’s health and seek aftermarket support and lower machine downtimes; plan their Manitou fleet better and optimize business; access live machine information like total running hours, fuel consumption, functionality, etc; track, trace, and control their machine usage; protect their equipment from unauthorized usage and get real time updates. All these features not only guarantee lower TCO and higher productivity, but also maximize the lifetime value of the machine.

With the country focusing on economic revival and its ambition of becoming self-reliant, the Union Budget 2022-23 holds the promise of bringing India closer to these objectives.
Infrastructure experts view Budget 2022-23 as growth-oriented; with the higher spending allocated to the infra sector, the government clearly aims to create more employment opportunities and strengthen the country’s economy.

Road construction has been given a boost, by increasing the target to 25,000 kms of national highways construction from the current 13,000 kms.

As per the official document, an outlay of Rs 1,40,367.13 crores for the Indian Railways has been announced for FY 2022-23 - an increase of 27.5% over the previous year.

The PM Gati Shakti Master Plan for expressways, aimed at faster movement of goods and people, will spur road construction activity, plus an allocation of ₹1 lakh crore to States for rural roads and infrastructure development. With capital expenditure at more than 4% of GDP and a renewed push in incentivizing various sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, health, digital education, and a big move for transition to clean energy, the Budget will drive industrial growth in a big way. These measures should help create sustained demand for Construction Equipment and Material Handling industry.
