Yanmar introduces e-powertrain strategy
Yanmar’s electrification strategy for off-road vehicles and OEM equipment is aimed at a sustainable future for all. The company is on its way to transform to new-energy sources with new products and alternative fuel technologies in all business areas, including the construction and building industry. As a long-standing OEM partner in this field, it will work together with OEMs to successfully transform the engine to an electric powertrain.
Yanmar will act as the all-in-one systems integrator for smart electrified power solutions tailored to the application-specific needs of individual OEMs. This means for OEMs that they can outsource most of all electrification work to Yanmar, as the company will take care of all systems, control, and maintenance issues for the e-powertrain.
Yanmar’s acquisition of battery-technology company ELEO, a fast-growing developer and manufacturer of high-performance modular battery systems, will further enhance Yanmar’s electrified powertrain capabilities with versatile, customized solutions for off-road applications. Together with its OEM partners and dealers, it will replace the powertrain, the heart of most equipment and machinery.
