Liugong India widens product portfolio, expands presence in road equipment

Liugong India launched its new 921DI, 21-ton tracked excavator and 611 compactor. According to Mr. Nischal Mehrotra, Director-Sales & Marketing, Liugong India. The 20-22-ton class of excavators constitutes 60-65% of total excavator sales in the Indian market. “With the growing size of this product category, our new product will give us a stronger footing in the market. Hydraulic Excavators launched are approx 6 percent more fuel-efficient in the same category of equipment and gives higher productivity, making it suitable for higher capacity crushing plants. It will further strengthen our business in the aggregates mineral processing industries which constitutes 45-55% of Liugong India’s excavator sales.”
He added, “We have launched our new 11 ton compactors seeing the rising demand in the road construction sector. We will promote our compactors along with our award winning Motor Grader,
Wheel Loaders and Hydraulic Excavators as a packaged offering to road contractors and hirers. Having the strong brand recall of our motor graders, wheel loaders, we are confident of a good response from our customers.”
The company is further strengthening its presence in the wheel loaders business, and has begun full scale promotion of its new 856 H wheel loaders which has variable Hydraulic System and are 8-10% more fuel-efficient, with three working modes and equipped with telematics. Aimed at the aggregate mineral processing and mining industries, the company has sold about 38 units already & has already established the confidence among various prestigious NHAI contractors across India with repeated orders.
Mr. Mehrotra said, “We have commissioned a full-scale excavator, compactor and motor grader assembly line at our Pithampur facility in Indore. We are well-known for the local manufacturing of our wheel loaders & graders for making them cost competitive, unlike our competitions who are relying mostly on imports to meet the market demand. With the successful running of our local assembly line, we will consider exporting the products to Middle East, Africa and other parts of Asia soon.” Liugong India manufactures 2T, 3T, 5T Loaders, Graders and 21T Excavator.
He added, “We will continue to invest in strengthening our support system to our 4500 active fleet, both directly and through our network of 18 dealers. We will be focusing on the skilled manpower and more touch points with 3S facility covering remote to remote locations. Training of operators will be high on the agenda as there is a dearth of skilled operators in India. Based on business prospects from other sectors of infrastructure development, we will consider promoting our piling rigs, dozers and Forklifts as well.”
