Tata Hitachi Mini Excavators: Advanced Features & Fuel Efficiency
Tata Hitachi offers a wide range of mini excavators (2-ton to 4-ton) with advanced features, various attachments, and excellent fuel efficiency, making them ideal for diverse construction and agricultural applications.
“Mini excavators by design are compact in size, more manoeuvrable, produce more output than manual labour and tractor-based attachments. The machines have lower ground pressure, emit less noise, and given their provision to accommodate varied attachments, they can offer better operating economics (as compared to larger standard machines),” informs Siddharth Chaturvedi, GM-Marketing, Tata Hitachi.
He adds, “With the various attachments, the minis can do municipal work, work at construction sites, build foundations, do demolition work, trenching, and small material handling jobs at project sites. The ability of these machines to dig effectively with lower ground pressure and lower fuel consumption makes them the most suitable for agricultural jobs in ponds and plantations, where larger equipment cannot work or where the work economics are unfavourable.”
He observes, “With their rising popularity, the mini excavator market has now become the 3rd largest segment within the excavator market, overtaking the 7-ton segment. Within mini excavators, the 3 to 4-ton machines now hold the dominant share. This is because customers seek a machine with a higher capacity that can undertake relatively tougher jobs and thereby increase their revenue and profitability.”
“The 2-ton segment is being increasingly used in niche applications where operating space is constrained. Mini excavators that are of even lesser capacity than the 2-ton and those that are of higher capacity than the 4-ton have emerged due to the increasing labour costs, labour shortage, and applications demanding time-based completion. If the trend continues, the mini excavator market could emerge as a dominant segment by 2030 and even as the 2nd largest group after the 20-ton excavator segment.”
Siddharth Chaturvedi informs that Tata Hitachi is a pioneer of mini excavators and has been present in the market for more than two decades. “The company continues to maintain market leadership due to its machines’ value propositions, user-friendly operation, ease of maintenance, and exceptional resale value. We have introduced new models over the years and currently have 4 models, namely TMX20Neo, ZX23U, NX30, and ZX33U. We will be introducing more models in the future.”
In the 2-ton category, the company offers TMX20 Neo and ZX23U models, while in the 3-ton segment, it offers the NX30 and ZX33U. “All our models are equipped with cutting-edge Hitachi hydraulic technology and world-class engines from Japan. The engine power across these models ranges from 17.4 HP to 28.4 HP. The hallmark features of all our mini excavators are enhanced digging forces, boom swing, dozer blade, rubber shoes, and a variety of attachments, low fuel consumption, and low maintenance costs,” he informs.
To make the mini excavators adaptable to wider jobs, Tata Hitachi is offering various attachments like buckets for general purpose and trenching work, rock breakers for demolition jobs, drum cutters to cut rock & concrete surfaces, augers for making vertical holes for tree planting, electric pole installation, & solar panel installation, hedge trimmers for agricultural and general-purpose applications, and trenchers for making trenches for laying water pipelines and electric cables.
“To complement these attachments, we offer mechanical and hydraulic quick couplers to switch between various attachments seamlessly. We offer NOX Tiltrotators for rotation and tilt in addition to quick coupling of the attachments. All our machines come with factory-fitted hydraulic piping kits to power these attachments,” says Chaturvedi.
