The Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Basavaraj Bommai, and General V K Singh, Honourable Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways & Civil Aviation, Government of India, inaugurated the L&T Pavilion at Excon in the presence of Y. Fujii, Managing Director, KIPL, Johan Schlyter, Managing Director, Scania CV India, and Arvind K. Garg, Executive Vice-President & Head, Construction & Mining Machinery, L&T.

Komatsu India and Larsen & Toubro put together an impressive showcase of their technological strengths and service capabilities. Scania and L&T displayed 18 machines and 8 special attachments. Four new environment-friendly, B20-biodiesel ready, hydraulic excavators – Komatsu PC205-10MO Hydraulic Excavator, Komatsu PC500LC-10R Hydraulic Excavator, Komatsu PC210LC-10M0 Super Long Front and Komatsu GD535-6 Motor Grader - were launched. These new models incorporate Komatsu’s cutting-edge technology and have been specially developed to suit tough Indian applications and conditions. The new high-performance Hydraulic Excavators have generated tremendous interest amongst buyers and have been lauded for introducing highly productive machines.

Arvind Garg
“Komatsu has now introduced a mining equipment fleet compatible with Biofuel which is an important step and can lead to a substantial reduction in carbon Footprint,” said Arvind Garg. “The Indian mining industry is growing at a healthy pace, and as a responsible stakeholder, we are committed towards introducing innovative products and the most environment-friendly technologies in India.”

The Komatsu Earthwork Master PC205-10M0 Hydraulic Excavator is specially built for the Indian market. It fulfils the long-felt need for continuous earthwork excavation in urban India and delivers unmatched fuel efficiency, high-performance, and low initial and maintenance costs.

The PC500LC-10R Hydraulic Excavator is the first of its kind launched by Komatsu in the 50-ton class. The machine is ideal for the mid-mining segment and works exceedingly well for overburden removal in coal mines.

L&T, Komatsu & Scania Showcase Biofuel Compatible Equipment

The PC210LC-10M0 Super Long Front (15m reach) is designed for jobs that require reach, power, and speed. Equipped with a powerful Komatsu engine, positive load sensing Hydraulic System, specially designed SLF attachment and a convertible counterweight, it is suitable for river/canal de-silting, well digging, breaking, and slope compaction.

GD535-6 Motor Grader is the next-generation CEV Stage-V emission compliant machine. Fitted with Komatsu’s newly developed 148 HP engine, the machine offers exceptional workability and environmental performance. It has improved operator comfort and maintainability over the previous GD535-5 model.

The D85 Crawler Dozer is considered a market leader in its class. The highly popular GD535 Motor Grader was launched with a new emission compliant engine meeting CEV-V norms. Both these models are imported from Komatsu, Japan.

Komatsu machines are digitalised and equipped with KOMTRAX tracking systems that enable users to monitor equipment health and increase efficiency. Komatsu machines on display included the entire range of Hydraulic Excavators for the Construction Segment - PC71, PC130, PC210-10M0, PC210LC-10M0, PC300LC-8M0 and PC350LC-8M0, besides the new models PC205-10M0, PC500LC-10R and PC210-10M0 SLF, which are manufactured by Komatsu India at its state-of-the-art facility in Oragadam, Chennai. The machines are deployed for multiple applications, including earthwork, land development, irrigation, and blue metal quarry, and have set new benchmarks across the industry.

Scania positioned its latest, powerful G500 Heavy Tipper on display in the L&T Pavilion. With its unique modular system, the Tipper delivers higher productivity as well as customized transport solutions. It is manufactured by Scania Commercial Vehicles India at the Narsapur facility in Karnataka and incorporates advanced Swedish technology.

Also on display was the new range of CEV-IV emission compliant Road Machinery which is indigenously developed and manufactured by L&T Construction Equipment Limited as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiative.
