Hyundai heavy industry launches new 51 ton class excavator

In a bid to further strengthen its product portfolio, Hyundai Construction Equipment India limited, showed its new Robex series, 510 LC-7, 51 ton tracked excavators at Excon 2013.

Mentioning about the excavator, Mr. Manas Mohanti, Head Product Support, Hyundai India said, "The excavators are presently being imported from Korea. However, depending on the quantum of sales, we may plan to indigenize the product at our Pune plant." Powered by 6 cylinders Cummins QSM 11-C, turbo charged engine; the equipment has a rated power of 353 hp (263kw) @ 1900 rpm. Bucket capacities of the excavators are between 3.03, 2.79, 2.43, and 2.20 c‎um. According to Mr. Mohanty, "the product has been launched keeping in view the forecasted growth in coal mining." The high capacity excavators will be marketed by Hyundai to corporate and rental companies.

Hyundai has recently launched, its 11, 14 and 21 tons, 'Salt' series of excavators. Mr. Mohanty mentioned, "the new 'Salt' series of excavators has been launched to function in coastal regions near the sea. The excavators have been given special modified primer and paint coating, so as to resist corrosion, while working on sea side salty areas."

To ensure off take of its new range of excavators, Hyundai India has added 29 dealers with100+ service touch points across the country compared to 27 dealers and 90 a year ago. To cater to the rapidly growing customer base in Southern India, Hyundai recently added, V Engineering Enterprise and Asha Atuomines Pvt. Ltd as its new dealers. Hyundai India has its mother warehouse in Pune and four regional warehouses in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai.
