CSIR Transfers Four Indigenous Technologies to Industry, Launches IoT Rural Water Monitoring System

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has transferred four indigenous technologies to industry and launched an IoT-enabled rural water monitoring system during a technology transfer event held at its headquarters in New Delhi.

Organised by CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), the event saw the transfer of technologies including the Induction Motor Stethoscope (MSCOPE), Portable & Universal Motor-cum-Pump Performance Monitor (PU-MPPM) and i-Power Quality Analyser (IPQA) to Pump Academy Private Limited. The Optical Module and Beam Combiner Assembly for the Head-Up Display (HUD) of the SU-30 aircraft programme was licensed to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Panchkula.

CSIR-CSIO also commercially launched an affordable IoT-enabled water service delivery, measurement and monitoring system for rural areas through Biometry Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The system is designed to monitor water quality, quantity and service delivery.

During the event, CSIR-CSIO announced that it received Rs. 1.67 crore in royalty from BEL during FY2025-26 for the licensed production of indigenous defence technologies, including Head-Up Display systems, Drogue Lights, Taxi Landing Lights and related avionics equipment.

Addressing the event, CSIR Director General N. Kalaiselvi said the successful commercialisation of indigenous technologies reflects CSIR's focus on translating research into industry-ready products while supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
