The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has sanctioned the construction of three flyovers in the city involving an investment of ₹164 crore. In this connection, the the standing committee of the civic body had already cleared the DPRs for all the three flyovers at locations including Sama Crossroads, near Sardar Patel Estate and at Vrundavan crossroads costing ₹46.4 crore, ₹59.62 crore and ₹58.28 crore respectively. Of the three projects, the Sardar Patel Estate flyover and the Vrundavan flyover are located in the eastern parts of the city. The state government has agreed to partly fund the flyover projects but the local body will have to bear the additional cost of these projects, said an official spokesperson.
