Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase IV, Batch II in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a major push for rural connectivity in the region. The programme will be held at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre in the presence of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior officials.

Under PMGSY IV Batch II, 330 new roads spanning 1,600 km will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3,550 crore, benefiting 363 habitations across the Union Territory. The initiative aims to strengthen last-mile connectivity and accelerate infrastructure development in remote and rural areas.

The new phase builds on earlier progress under PMGSY, which has delivered over 19,800 km of road network and 257 bridges in Jammu & Kashmir since its inception. The upcoming projects are expected to further improve access to essential services and enhance regional integration through better road connectivity.
