Nitin Gadkari Reviews 9,400 Km National Highway Projects in Karnataka and Kerala

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari reviewed the quality and maintenance progress of National Highway projects covering over 9,400 km across Karnataka and Kerala, with a focus on timely execution and improved infrastructure standards.

The review covered 7,926 km of highways in Karnataka and 1,513 km across 61 projects in Kerala, in a meeting attended by officials from the National Highways Authority of India and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The Minister emphasised strict adherence to quality standards, faster on-ground execution and the adoption of advanced construction technologies to enhance durability and riding quality.

He also directed officials to ensure preparedness ahead of the monsoon season, with a focus on drainage management, slope protection and quick-response systems to maintain road safety and ensure uninterrupted traffic movement across key corridors.
