NHAI to launch Rs. 15,000-cr fund raising drive
To ensure a smooth flow of funds for both ongoing and future highway projects, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans to raise Rs. 15,000 crore in two rounds through the infrastructure investment trusts (InVITs) route, according to Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav. He explained that NHAI intends to conduct the monetization exercise in four rounds, opting for a quarterly approach rather than announcing plans for the entire fiscal year. This phased approach is designed to enhance the effectiveness of the exercise, spreading the realization of funds throughout the year. This strategy prevents a potential halt to the entire process if any issues arise in a single attempt.
