NHAI launches construction of ₹21,271-cr highway in Kerala

NHAI
The National Highways Authority of India has started construction work on the 187-km-long highway projects in Kerala entailing an investment of ₹21,271 crore. The major projects included 120 km Palakkad-Malappuram-Kozhikode greenfield Highway, a 12.34 km elevated stretch between Thuravoor to Aroor, and 59 km Shenkottai-Kollam greenfield Highway.

NHAI has completed the construction of 177 km of road network and construction work of 403-km road projects worth ₹34,972 crore is currently in full swing. The Palakkad-Malappuram-Kozhikode Highway will ease traffic on the existing NH 966 where the total time required to cover the distance will be reduced to one-and-a-half hours from three-and-a-half hours currently. This will boost the development of remote areas of Palakkad and Malappuram districts, besides improving inter-state connectivity between Tamil Nadu and northern Kerala.
