The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tenders for the construction of two light vehicular underpasses (LVUP) in Kerala, one in front of Technopark Phase-3 and the other at Mukkolakkal on the Kazhakootam-Mukkola highway stretch. The estimated project cost for the construction of the Enchakkal flyover and Thiruvallam Bridge is ₹54.14 crore and the work is expected to be completed within 18 months. The Enchakkal flyover will be 1.25 km long, and the Thiruvallam major bridge will be 0.170 km long. In addition to these structures, the project includes the construction of a flyover at Enchakkal and a bridge at Thiruvallam at a cost of ₹25.78 crore, with a completion period of one year, after which the contractor will have to maintain it for five years. The contractor will also provide various facilities like roadside furniture, streetlights, pedestrian facilities, landscaping, tree sapling plantation and traffic safety devices. The state government has issued administrative sanction for an amount of ₹31.93 crore for the construction of three LVL UP near Technopark P-3 campus.
