MoRTH invites bids for ₹274.96-cr project in Uttarakhand

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced the invitation for bids for the construction of the Askote-Lipulekh road project in Uttarakhand under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. The project will be undertaken by the Border Road Organisation (BRO) on the engineering procurement and construction model.

The construction will involve a two-lane road with a hard shoulder, spanning from Tawaghat village to Budhi village (design km. 56.935 to Km 95.748) and from the end of Tunnel Portal to Kali Mandir (design km 113.828 to km 133.078), with a total design length of 58.063 km. The project requires an investment of ₹274.96 crore and must be completed within 24 months, followed by a maintenance period of 60 months from the actual date of completion.

This project aims to improve connectivity and provide better infrastructure to the region, particularly in terms of transportation. The BRO's involvement in this project highlights its commitment to ensuring the safety and accessibility of the country's borders.
