The Greater Chennai Corporation is on a mission to repair 500 roads across the city before the onset of the Northeast monsoon, providing relief to residents in areas like Manapakkam, Mugalivakkam, Ramapuram, Porur, and Madipakkam, which have been plagued by potholes and road damage. Approximately 100 roads have already been re-laid since September 20, with the main challenge being sporadic rains and restrictions on transporting hot mix during the daytime. To prepare for the rains, the corporation is also removing parked and abandoned vehicles and conducting patchwork worth ₹13 crores. Recent repairs have included roads like Chowdary Nagar Main Road, Kadamban Street, Kattabomman Street in Valasaravakkam, and Wireless Cross Road in Porur.
