The new expressway will reduce the distance from Hyderabad to Raipur by 250 km, compared to the current distance of 780 km. To kickstart the project, the Centre has sanctioned the development of a 63 km four-lane road in Telangana, connecting Bellampalli to Gadchiroli on the Maharashtra border. This road will run from Annaram near Bellampalli in the Mancherial district through Veeravelli in the Asifabad district to Gadchiroli.
The Hyderabad-Raipur Expressway will run from Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gadchiroli, Gondpipri, Adilabad, Mancherial, Ramagundam, and Karimnagar to reach Hyderabad from Raipur. Currently, there is a four-lane road from Mancherial to Hyderabad, which will be extended to Bellampally as part of the proposed Expressway. This extended road will be laid as a controlled greenfield road.
